STEP ONE:
INTAKE
During our intake process, our matchmaking experts conduct client assessments and interviews to ascertain what types of partner and relationship dynamic will be most compatible for you. We learn from your personal history — your preferences, deal-breakers, what your relationship patterns are — as well as what a healthy, happy relationship looks like for you. We get to know each individual on a very personal level.
STEP TWO
BENCHMARKS
We develop client-approved Benchmarks For Success®, which outlines the client’s specific search criteria. The benchmark phase explores over 225 key personal, professional, and social indicators desired in a partner. The purpose of the benchmarks is to focus the scope of the search, but not to constrain it. As relationship experts, Selective Search Matchmakers are trained to identify the compatibility of a couple beyond the obvious indicators.
STEP THREE
SCREENING
Selective Search Matchmakers and our research teams conduct personal interviews to screen each potential introduction. During screening, candidates undergo the same comprehensive assessment as our clients, and are only selected if they have maximum compatibility. This screening process also allows Matchmakers to evaluate factors like personality, values, emotional availability, lifestyle, interests, and physical appearance that would be lost in an online experience. This screening process is customized for each client, and will include necessary inquiries to ascertain important information relevant to the client’s search.
STEP FOUR
SELECTION
The Matchmaker puts together a comprehensive presentation of candidate information for the client. The presentation details pertinent facts about the candidate, along with recent photos, observations and valuable insights from our Matchmakers. With this knowledge, the client can make an informed decision whether to ask additional follow up questions, continue the search, or enthusiastically pursue the match.
STEP FIVE
MEETING
This is perhaps the most exciting phase, when our clients are introduced to their match and meet in person. A date provides a venue for each individual to discover the chemistry and enjoy exploring the connection and all they have in common.
We only introduce our clients to “must-meet” individuals who we believe have the greatest compatibility.
STEP SIX
EVALUATION
After the date, both individuals independently consult with their Selective Search Matchmaker. The Matchmaker consults with both confidentially, as an objective third party. They encourage each party to discuss how the date went, and asks how they would like to proceed. This phase is especially helpful for both the client and the candidate. As an objective third party, the Matchmaker adds value in developing the right relationships, and providing valuable feedback in new relationships. Frequently, both parties learn a lot about themselves during this phase.
